TIER IV to Host Educational Autonomous Driving Event for Youth
TIER IV, a pioneer in open-source autonomous driving software, will co-host an educational event on September 26 at Tokyo's Miraikan science museum for junior and senior high school students.
Tokyo – TIER IV, known for its open-source software for autonomous driving, announced it will co-host an educational event on September 26 at the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (Miraikan) in Tokyo. The event, organized with Tamiya, Macnica, and zero to one, aims to introduce junior and senior high school students to autonomous driving and AI technologies.
The initiative is part of TIER IV's broader efforts to nurture future talent in the field of autonomous systems. Participants will engage in hands-on activities, including training an AI robot and using a simulator to experience autonomous driving with TIER IV's Autoware software.
Key activities include an AI workshop using robots developed by Tamiya and Macnica, a PC-based simulator where students can operate virtual autonomous vehicles, and a demonstration of an AI-powered radio-controlled car created by TIER IV and Tamiya. These sessions are designed to foster understanding of AI decision-making and the societal implications of autonomous technology.
TIER IV, which develops the Autoware open-source platform, is focused on making autonomous driving widely accessible. The company collaborates with various partners to expand the ecosystem and encourages engagement from young minds to critically assess the interaction between emerging technologies and society.
