Tiertime Enters Consumer UV Printer Market
Chinese 3D printer manufacturer Tiertime has initiated a project to develop UV printers for the consumer market. This move expands the company's technological focus beyond 3D printing and laser processing.

Chinese 3D printer manufacturer Tiertime has begun a project to develop UV printers for the consumer market, according to a report by Kechuangban Daily. The company has planned for over ten job roles, covering the full research and development chain from printhead drivers and ink paths to material verification and software collaboration.
This new UV printer project signifies Tiertime's strategic expansion into multiple technology routes. The company is simultaneously advancing its 3D printing, laser processing, and now UV printing technologies, aiming to develop its footprint in the personal fabrication sector. Tiertime had previously teased its R1 laser product earlier this month.
UV printers are capable of full-color, photo-quality printing on a wide range of materials, including textiles, glass, metal, and plastics. They can also produce some 3D relief effects, though the technology primarily focuses on 2D printing. Tiertime, known for its consumer 3D printers, has already sold over one million units in China within approximately four years of its first product launch.
