TikTok releases standalone application for TikTok Shop
ByteDance has introduced a dedicated mobile application for its e-commerce platform, TikTok Shop, in select international markets.

TikTok has launched a standalone mobile application for its shopping platform, TikTok Shop, marking a shift toward separating its e-commerce operations from its primary social media feed. The application, currently available on both iOS and Android in limited regions such as Singapore, allows users to browse products, view live shopping streams, and manage orders independently of the main TikTok app.
The new interface centralizes features previously embedded within the core TikTok experience, including personalized product recommendations, integrated live-stream shopping, and direct order tracking. The company has also included incentives such as platform-specific discounts and shipping promotions to encourage users to download the separate software.
Industry analysts view this move as a strategic effort to scale its retail footprint. By creating a dedicated e-commerce environment, the company may aim to improve user retention for shopping-focused sessions and better compete with established e-commerce marketplaces. The company has yet to confirm a timeline for a broader global rollout.
