TikTok has removed 23,400 pieces of content and disabled 1,300 accounts that involved harmful modifications of classic children's animations. The actions targeted content using AI to spread inappropriate or violent material.

TikTok has taken significant action to protect minors on its platform by removing a substantial amount of harmful content. The company announced it has removed 23,400 posts and disabled 1,300 accounts that featured modified versions of classic children's animations.
According to statements released via "Douyin Blackboard," a platform account, some accounts were found to be using AI technology to maliciously alter popular children's shows. These modifications were used to spread vulgar, violent, or otherwise inappropriate content, often aimed at younger audiences. The company stated that this type of content can negatively impact the mental and physical well-being of minors.
These actions are part of TikTok's ongoing efforts to combat content that endangers children. The company highlighted several specific cases as examples. One account was found to be using AI to incorporate violent or tragic plotlines into classic animations, using suggestive language to encourage likes and follows from minors. This account has since been suspended.
Another case involved an account that altered animation plots to include violent scenes, such as depicting a child being thrown from a height, and low-brow content like "boys getting pregnant." This account also faced suspension. TikTok stated these videos were removed for endangering the mental and physical health of minors.
The platform emphasized its commitment to continuously improving its content moderation systems to identify and eliminate harmful material. TikTok aims to provide a secure environment for all users, with a particular focus on safeguarding its younger audience.
