TILT launches ₹250 Cr fund backed by Binny Bansal for impact startups

TILT, the impact investment platform of The/Nudge Foundation, has launched a ₹250 crore (approximately $26 million) venture fund. The fund aims to support early-stage startups developing solutions for India's 'Next Billion' population.

The fund will primarily invest in seed to Series A stage companies, with individual investments ranging from ₹2 crore to ₹16 crore. Notable backers include the US-based Livelihood Impact Fund, alongside prominent Indian entrepreneurs such as Deep Kalra (MakeMyTrip), Hari Menon (BigBasket), and Binny Bansal (Flipkart).

According to TILT, the fund will provide patient capital to businesses that may require extended periods to achieve product-market fit, build distribution networks, and develop sustainable economic models. Investment focus areas include science- and technology-led startups in agricultural value chains, climate resilience, informal work, MSME productivity, employability, financial inclusion, and market access.

The launch comes amid a period of increased activity in India's startup funding landscape, with several new funds emerging. Beyond capital, TILT plans to offer portfolio support, including market development and partnerships. The platform aims to back over 150 startups and impact 100 million lives within the next 15 years.
