Timex Uses AI to Teach Children Analog Clock Reading

Watchmaker Timex has introduced Timex Tales, a new service designed to teach children how to read an analog clock. The platform combines artificial intelligence, storytelling, and interactive tools to make learning about time engaging for young users.

Timex Tales employs Google Gemini AI to generate personalized adventures for children aged 5–10. The learning experience is woven into narratives where children encounter various characters and learn to identify hour and minute hands, understand AM/PM concepts, and grasp the daily rhythm of time. Each adventure concludes with downloadable materials to facilitate continued practice at home.

According to the company, a recent survey indicates a growing gap in analog time-telling skills among children, with many struggling due to reliance on digital devices. Timex aims to address this deficiency and reintroduce the value of analog time through its new service.

The platform is built on Google Cloud, enabling a seamless and scalable user experience. Timex stated the initiative seeks to integrate analog time into children's lives by blending narrative with technology.
