Jahreszeiten-Verlag in Hamburg has made changes to the editorial leadership of its culture and travel magazine MERIAN. Tinka Dippel, who has been part of the magazine's editorial team for ten years, began her role as deputy editor-in-chief on April 1, 2022.

Dippel succeeds Kathrin Sander, who, along with fellow department head Inka Schmeling, has left the magazine at their own request. Sander and Schmeling are launching a digital startup focused on individual travelers. They will continue to produce MERIAN's podcast, "Reisen beginnt im Kopf."

MERIAN's editor-in-chief Hansjörg Falz stated that Dippel possesses extensive journalistic experience and leadership qualities suitable for the new position. Falz also thanked Sander and Schmeling for their collaboration and wished them well in their new venture.

Silvia Tyburski has been appointed as the new department head, replacing Inka Schmeling. Tyburski has previously worked for MERIAN as a writer and producer and has contributed to publications such as mare and National Geographic.
