Tiny11 Builder rebuilt with WinUI 3, creates streamlined Win11 install images

The Tiny11 tool has been rebuilt with a new WinUI 3 interface, addressing compatibility issues with Windows 11 version 26H2 and enabling the creation of streamlined installation images.

IT Home reported on October 13 that the Tiny11 utility has received a significant update, featuring a complete rebuild using the WinUI 3 framework for an improved user interface and experience.

This update specifically addresses compatibility issues with Windows 11 version 26H2. Previously, older versions of the builder tool incorrectly rejected installations for this newer Windows release. The current version now checks service providers rather than just the boot program, ensuring proper recognition of compatible installation media.

Tiny11 Builder allows users to create custom, streamlined Windows 11 installation images from the outset, removing the need for post-installation cleanup. The tool offers a standard mode that retains essential components like Windows Update and Microsoft Defender, while a custom mode provides granular control over which applications, components, and services are kept or removed.

New features include a "speed mode" for faster image processing and a "save build progress" function to resume interrupted tasks. The developer cautions that removing protected system components can lead to instability, recommending users test generated images in a virtual machine before deploying them to primary hardware.
