Tiryaki Agro and Djibouti Ports Authority Sign Accord for Tadjourah Port Development

Tiryaki Agro and the Djibouti Ports and Free Zones Authority (DPFZA) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This agreement initiates a process to evaluate the long-term development, modernization, and future operations of the Tadjourah Port.

The collaboration aims to enhance Djibouti's role as a regional trade and logistics hub. It also seeks to boost agricultural trade, supply chain resilience, and food security across the Horn of Africa.

Under the MoU, both parties will jointly assess the technical, economic, and operational frameworks for the port's future development. Plans include expanding port infrastructure, increasing logistics and storage capacity, and improving the handling of agricultural and bulk commodities. The agreement also lays the groundwork for negotiating a long-term concession for the port's management and operation.

The initiative, supported by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), aims to leverage Djibouti's strategic location and foster private sector-driven growth in the region.
