TMTG CEO declines to address Truth API investigations

Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG) CEO Kevin McGurn declined to provide details regarding ongoing investigations into the company's Truth API product during an appearance at Axios' Media Trends Live event in New York on Tuesday. Democratic lawmakers have requested that the SEC investigate the product, questioning whether providing preferential access to market-moving posts by Donald Trump facilitates insider trading.

McGurn stated that the company remains in frequent contact with government agencies and denied commenting on specific investigations. He defended the Truth API as a standard industry practice, noting that high-frequency trading platforms have sought such access for the past 18 months. McGurn characterized the API as a cash-positive business model that capitalizes on existing market demand for rapid information.

Looking forward, TMTG continues to recruit creators to build out its content distribution network. McGurn maintained that the platform remains valuable to traders regardless of Trump's political standing, asserting that the brand's influence persists beyond the current administration.
