Tom Felton Returns as Draco Malfoy on Stage

Actor Tom Felton is set to reprise his iconic role as Draco Malfoy within the Harry Potter universe, though not in the upcoming HBO television series. Instead, Felton will make his stage debut on Broadway on November 11.

Felton will appear in the play "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" at New York's Lyric Theater. This stage production is set 19 years after the events of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2" and explores the characters in their adult lives.

The play is based on the story created by J.K. Rowling and Jack Thorne and has been running on Broadway since 2016. Felton has previously stated that stepping back into the shoes of Draco as an adult is a dream come true, admitting the situation still feels surreal.

Felton's return is significant as he is the first actor from the Harry Potter films to join a stage production within the Potter universe. He and other original film cast members will not be appearing in the new HBO TV series, which will retell the original book stories. Casting for the series has already begun.
