South Florida PBS (WPBT & WXEL) is set to launch The Moonwalkers: A Journey with Tom Hanks, an immersive cinematic experience co-written and narrated by actor Tom Hanks, this September. The debut is timed to coincide with renewed global interest in lunar missions through NASA's Artemis program.
The experience aims to bring the Apollo missions to life using immersive storytelling and technology. It offers audiences a new perspective on humanity's historic achievements in space exploration, featuring Hanks' narration, interviews with Artemis astronauts, and restored NASA footage.
Content includes newly filmed interviews with astronauts involved in the Artemis program, remastered NASA archival footage, and imagery from Andy Saunders' Apollo Remastered. The production is credited to Lightroom, a creative studio based in London.
South Florida PBS is encouraging interested individuals to join a waitlist for ticket information and updates ahead of public sale. The Moonwalkers is scheduled to open in September 2026, with tickets to be released at a later date.
