Tomorrow.Blue Economy 2026 plans strategic course for ocean economy

Fira de Barcelona is set to host the Tomorrow.Blue Economy World Congress (TBEWC) from November 3-5, 2026. The event will convene representatives from major city ports, public administrations, international organizations, research centers, companies, and startups. The primary objective is to discuss strategies for harnessing the oceans as a key driver for sustainable economic development in the coming decades.

The congress will feature expert discussions across three main programs: Smart Ports: Piers of the Future, the Global Blue Finance Summit, and the Sustainable Ocean Summit. These sessions aim to address challenges in the port and maritime sector, connect investors with blue economy opportunities, and foster solutions for ocean protection and economic expansion.

Key speakers include Allyson Beach, Blue Acceleration Adviser at the World Ocean Council, and Chris Ninnes, CEO of the Aquaculture Stewardship Council. Barcelona City Council, through Barcelona Activa, will also present its new Blue Economy Strategy, focusing on fostering open innovation and developing sector-specific talent.

An Ocean Innovation Hub will showcase emerging companies in the blue economy sector. TBEWC is organized in conjunction with several other major congresses, including the Smart City Expo World Congress.
