TomTom and DeepRoute.ai Partner on AI-Powered Automated Driving
TomTom and DeepRoute.ai have signed a memorandum of understanding to advance AI-powered automated driving. The companies have integrated TomTom's location data into DeepRoute.ai's system and will demonstrate the technology at the Paris Motor Show.

Mapping and location technology company TomTom and autonomous driving solutions provider DeepRoute.ai have formalized a collaboration through a memorandum of understanding focused on joint technical work.
As part of the partnership, TomTom's precise location data has been integrated into DeepRoute.ai's artificial intelligence-driven driving stack. This integration aims to enhance the ability of automated driving systems to adapt to diverse road conditions, local traffic regulations, and market-specific requirements. The companies will showcase the combined technology at the Paris Motor Show, featuring a demonstration vehicle on Paris roads.
The collaboration is intended to accelerate and streamline the deployment of automated driving systems across various markets. Given the significant variations in road networks, rules, and driving behaviors internationally, TomTom's location data provides a global, yet locally adaptable, foundation for addressing these differences.
"As automated driving systems become more advanced, a reliable understanding of the physical world is crucial. The cooperation between DeepRoute.ai and TomTom is speeding up the safe roll-out of automated driving across different markets," stated Willem Strijbosch, Head of Orbis Product Management at TomTom. DeepRoute.ai noted that partnering with a global location technology provider like TomTom is a key milestone for its global expansion.
The technology supports the development of advanced L2+ and L2++ automated driving functions, which require precise positioning and environmental awareness from vehicles.
