Tongwei Solar Unveils New Residential Solar Module Chengdu, China – October 13, 2026

Tongwei Solar has launched the TNC 2.0 FULLX G12R-48, a 48-cell residential solar module designed to maximize energy generation on home rooftops. The module delivers up to 490W with a 24.5% efficiency in a compact 1762 x 1134 x 30 mm form factor. Available in all-black and black-frame versions, it combines high power output with significant energy generation capacity, installation flexibility, and an aesthetic suitable for modern homes.

Compared to conventional solar modules, the TNC 2.0 FULLX G12R-48 offers approximately 30W more power in a similar size, enabling higher total capacity installation with fewer panels. According to Tongwei's internal tests, the module produces, on average, 3.3% more energy per watt compared to copper-metallized back-contact (BC) panels. This advantage stems from lower leakage currents and improved performance in low-light conditions, enhancing the utilization of available solar radiation, particularly during early morning and late afternoon hours.

For homeowners, the increased energy generation can translate into significant cost savings. Tests indicate the TNC module achieved 447.56 equivalent full-load hours, surpassing BC panels. While actual savings depend on installation conditions and local electricity prices, an estimated 485W TNC module could provide comparable energy output to a 500W BC module, potentially reducing the overall cost for a 12-panel system by over €400.

The module's design also considers various roof types and environmental conditions. Simulations under typical German conditions showed lower generation losses in dim light and under different soiling levels compared to BC panels. The all-black and black-frame aesthetics, along with a gapless cell structure, enhance its visual appeal. The double-glass structure and protective sealing ensure long-term reliability in diverse weather conditions.
