Toni Schneider appointed permanent CEO of Bluesky
Bluesky, the decentralized social media platform founded by Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey, has appointed Toni Schneider as its permanent CEO, removing his interim title.

Toni Schneider, who had been serving as Bluesky's interim CEO for the past four months, has now been officially appointed as the platform's permanent chief executive. Schneider took on the interim role in March when longtime CEO Jay Graber stepped down to become Chief Innovation Officer.
"I'm four months into my interim CEO role at Bluesky, and it's time for an update," Schneider wrote on his personal blog. "Most importantly, as of today, the interim part of the title is gone. I'm loving the mission and the job, and I'm all in as Bluesky's official CEO."
Schneider, who is also the founding CEO of Automattic (the company behind WordPress and Tumblr) and a partner at venture capital firm True Ventures, stated that one of his first priorities is to "create smaller spaces and more private communities." He believes this will "unlock the next wave of growth and innovation."
Both Automattic and True Ventures are investors in Bluesky. The platform was initially developed as a decentralized social network project initiated by Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey.
