Tookitaki Appoints New CEO Amid Asia-Pacific Expansion

Tookitaki, a Singapore-based financial crime technology company, announced on September 30 that Isabel Ridad has been appointed CEO. Ridad, previously president, will assume executive and operational responsibilities for the company. Founder Abhishek Chatterjee will transition to the role of executive chairman and chair of the board.

In her new capacity, Ridad will oversee the day-to-day operations and overall executive leadership of Tookitaki. Chatterjee will focus on the company's strategic direction, artificial intelligence strategy, board management, and engagement with key clients and regulators.

The firm specializes in anti-money laundering and fraud prevention solutions for financial institutions in the Asia-Pacific region. Tookitaki reports serving more than 30 financial institutions in the area. Its technology has processed and monitored over 100 billion transactions and 200 million customer accounts.

Tookitaki intends to further expand its presence in the Asia-Pacific market through 2027, aiming to enter at least one new country. The company also received a strategic investment from True Global Ventures in October 2024. This leadership transition occurs as regulatory scrutiny concerning anti-money laundering practices intensifies across Asia-Pacific jurisdictions, driven by regional reviews linked to the Financial Action Task Force.
