Toyota recorded a net profit of 2.24 trillion yen for the first half of fiscal year 2027, even as global sales volume saw a slight decline.

5 November 2026

Toyota announced a 26.1 percent increase in net profit for the first half of fiscal year 2027, reaching 2.24 trillion yen. Revenue for the period ending September 30, 2026, rose 9.5 percent to 26.96 trillion yen.

Global vehicle sales for the period totaled 4.75 million units, a 0.5 percent decline compared to the previous year. While domestic sales in Japan grew by 5.6 percent, overseas performance decreased by 2.1 percent. Operating profit rose 9.2 percent to 2.19 trillion yen, bolstered primarily by favorable exchange rate fluctuations.

Looking ahead to the full fiscal year ending March 2027, Toyota has updated its forecasts. The company expects revenue of 53.5 trillion yen, up 5.6 percent, but anticipates a 7.2 percent decline in net profit to 3.57 trillion yen. Additionally, the company removed 70 entities associated with Hino Motors from its consolidated financial reporting.
