TPG to Invest $336 Million in Data Management Firm Denodo
Global alternative asset firm TPG has signed an agreement to invest $336 million in Denodo, a leader in data management. The investment is intended to accelerate Denodo's growth and global expansion.

Denodo Technologies Inc., a company specializing in data management, has secured a $336 million investment from global alternative asset firm TPG. The investment, made through TPG's growth platform TPG Growth, will be in Denodo's Series B preferred equity. The transaction, which includes both primary capital and a secondary sale of shares from HGGC, is expected to close in early October.
This substantial capital infusion is aimed at accelerating Denodo's expansion in the data management sector. According to TPG, Denodo's data virtualization software, which allows enterprises to create unified views of disparate data sources without moving them, has driven impressive, profitable growth. The company has experienced significant development since HGGC's initial investment in 2017.
Denodo, established in 2000, has grown into a global leader in data management. Its solutions focus on unifying and democratizing data through a logical approach powered by data virtualization. This strategy helps customers enhance operational efficiency, data maturity, and compliance.
The investment is expected to support Denodo's continued rapid expansion of its global market share. Mike Zappert, Partner at TPG, highlighted Denodo's market position and its capability to provide consolidated data views across various systems. Angel Viña, CEO and Founder of Denodo, expressed enthusiasm for TPG's expertise in investing in high-growth companies with disruptive technologies.
HGGC, which has been an investor since 2017, will remain a significant shareholder. J.P. Morgan served as the sole placement agent for the transaction. The Denodo Platform offers advanced functionality for integrating data residing within an organization's IT systems.
