Trade barriers affect 93% of Swedish manufacturers, survey finds
Trade barriers impact 93% of surveyed Swedish manufacturers, with 58% reporting moderate to significant operational effects. Simultaneously, three in four companies anticipate increased orders in 2027.

Trade barriers are affecting nearly all of Sweden's manufacturing sector, as 93% of companies surveyed reported encountering them. Of these, 58% stated the barriers have a moderate or significant impact on their operations.
The findings come from the latest Manufacturing Report by advisory firm Triathlon Group, based on a survey of Sweden's 100 largest manufacturing companies. Counterintuitively, despite the prevalence of trade barriers, three in four firms expect their order intake to increase in 2027. However, only 26% of companies plan to boost their investments.
The report also highlights a record high, with 82% of respondents anticipating higher revenues in 2027. This marks the largest share since the report's inception in 2015.
Conversely, 65% of manufacturers expect their costs to rise in 2027, while only 12% foresee a decrease in expenses.
