Transatlantic Confidence Edges Up, But US Investors Cite UK Competitiveness Concerns
Confidence in the US-UK business corridor has risen slightly to 6.7 out of 10, up from last year's record low of 6.6. US investors have raised concerns regarding the United Kingdom's competitiveness.
Confidence in the business corridor between the United States and the United Kingdom has seen a marginal increase, according to the sixth annual Index report by BritishAmerican Business and Bain & Company.
The index measuring this confidence reached 6.7 out of 10, a slight improvement from the previous year's record low of 6.6. Specifically, US companies' confidence in the UK market ticked up from 6.3 to 6.4.
Despite this slight recovery, US investors have voiced warnings concerning the UK's competitiveness. Concerns have been raised about the nation's ability to maintain its competitive standing on a global scale.
The annual index surveys British and American companies on their views regarding the business environment, regulatory landscape, and market stability in both countries, providing insight into the state of transatlantic business relations.
