Transcosmos has announced it will co-sponsor Pickleball X, a project focused on developing professional pickleball players, by taking on the role of a team owner. The company's team, named transcosmos NEXUS, is set to compete in Japan's inaugural professional pickleball league, the PX LEAGUE, launching in October 2026.
The PX LEAGUE, the third series of the Pickleball X initiative, will feature a mixed-gender team format with six participating teams. The league is scheduled to run for seven months, from October 2026 to April 2027, comprising a regular season followed by playoffs to determine the champion.
Transcosmos cited the sport's growing popularity and its aligning principles with the company's business โ connecting people and services โ as reasons for its involvement. Pickleball has seen a rapid increase in participation in Japan, attracting players of all ages due to its accessibility.
The Pickleball X program has previously focused on providing selected players with advanced coaching and training facilities to prepare them for international competition. Player applications for the new league are open in August, with a draft selection scheduled for September.
