TRENDE Selected for Unreasonable Impact Asia Pacific Program
Japanese renewable energy retailer TRENDE Inc. has been selected to join 11 other growth-stage ventures in the Unreasonable Impact Asia Pacific 2020 program.

TRENDE Inc., a Japanese retailer of renewable energy, has been selected to participate in this year's Unreasonable Impact Asia Pacific program, which focuses on addressing global challenges. The selection followed a rigorous process that included hundreds of companies, with 12 ventures from across the Asia Pacific region ultimately chosen.
The Unreasonable Impact program, a collaboration between Barclays and Unreasonable Group, aims to support and scale high-growth ventures within the green economy, particularly in light of the ongoing global pandemic. The selected companies are focused on solutions impacting the future of food, energy, sustainable living, and supply chains. Participants are expected to create at least 500 jobs within the next five years.
Jeffrey Char, TRENDE's co-founder and Chairman, stated that the company was founded in response to the climate crisis and Japan's reliance on fossil fuels. He expressed enthusiasm for leveraging the program's network and expertise to amplify the company's positive impact.
Collectively, the twelve ventures in the program have generated over $76.28 million in revenue and raised $114.48 million in funding. To date, the broader Unreasonable Impact community has positively impacted over 220 million people and reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 55 million tons.
