Trettitre releases modular wall-mounted audio system
Trettitre has launched its Retro Ambient Audio System, a 529-dollar modular wall-mounted setup featuring a vinyl player, CD player, and cassette deck.

Following a successful Kickstarter campaign that raised over 2.2 million dollars, Trettitre has begun selling its Retro Ambient Audio System directly to consumers. The package, priced at 529 dollars, allows users to mount a turntable, CD player, and cassette deck onto a modular wall rack, with an additional slot provided for smartphone streaming.
The design draws on mid-century minimalist aesthetics, specifically referencing the work of industrial designer Dieter Rams. According to Trettitre’s design director, Yong Cao, the modular approach is intended to highlight the distinct tactile experience of different physical media formats rather than consolidating them into a single unit.
Vertical vinyl playback presents distinct engineering challenges, particularly regarding gravity's effect on the tonearm and needle tracking. Some early Kickstarter backers reported pitch distortions when using the player in a vertical position. Trettitre’s management stated they are aware of these performance issues and are implementing design fixes.
The system remains a niche product aimed at consumers interested in physical media, with individual modules available for separate purchase. The turntable unit operates via a rechargeable battery, allowing for limited portability away from the wall mount.
