Truecaller to Acquire US-Based TextPlus for $15 Million
Swedish communication app Truecaller has agreed to acquire US-based TextPlus for $15 million, aiming to expand its presence and services in the US market.

Truecaller AB, a Stockholm-based communication platform, has entered into an agreement to acquire TextPlus Inc., a US-based communications software company, for $15 million. The deal is expected to close in the third quarter of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals.
The acquisition is intended to bolster Truecaller's footprint in the United States by incorporating TextPlus's offerings, which include second phone numbers and internet-based calling (VoIP). This move aims to create a more comprehensive communication platform for Truecaller, leveraging TextPlus's established user base and technology.
Founded in 2009 and headquartered in Los Angeles, TextPlus provides cloud-based voice, messaging, and connectivity services, serving approximately 1.5 million monthly active users. The company offers an alternative to traditional wireless carriers, with adjusted net revenue of $5.2 million for the twelve months ending May 2026 and a notable compound annual growth rate of approximately 45% since 2023.
Truecaller, which operates globally and is listed on Nasdaq Stockholm, plans to finance the acquisition using its own funds. The integration is expected to facilitate cross-selling opportunities and technology sharing between the two companies' platforms.
