Trulieve Receives DEA Registrations for Medical Cannabis Operations

Trulieve Cannabis Corp. has secured federal registrations from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) for its medical marijuana dispensaries. This move follows the DEA’s decision to begin issuing federal credentials to state-licensed operators, a step taken after the reclassification of medical marijuana to Schedule III under the Controlled Substances Act earlier this year.

CEO Kim Rivers stated that the federal registration process represents a shift that may facilitate increased clinical research and provide a clearer regulatory framework for industry operators. The federal framework aims to maintain oversight of the sector while formally integrating state-licensed entities into the national system.

Trulieve operates as a vertically integrated cannabis firm with a presence in Florida, Georgia, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. The company is publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange.
