Trump Blames Walz for Water System Hacks Amid Iran Suspicions

Donald Trump has attributed recent cyberattacks on Minnesota's water systems to Governor Tim Walz, a theory he shared with reporters. This comes as federal agencies like the FBI, EPA, and CISA have warned of spreading threats to critical infrastructure.

While these agencies have stopped short of officially naming Iran as the attacker, a consensus among cybersecurity experts and officials points to the country as the probable source of the intrusions. Trump, however, dismissed this possibility, stating, "I don't think there was an Iranian cyberattack."

The attacks have impacted at least 30 community water systems across Minnesota. The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) has issued warnings about the escalating nature of these threats, indicating a broader risk to U.S. infrastructure.

Authorities continue to investigate the incidents and work on strengthening defenses against such cyber threats targeting essential services.
