Trump Mobile Faces Security and Authorization Concerns in U.S.

U.S. Senator Maggie Hassan has expressed significant concerns over the operations of mobile provider Trump Mobile. In a letter to the company, Hassan stated that Trump Mobile has apparently failed to obtain the required authorizations to operate the international calling portion of its phone service.

Furthermore, Hassan indicated that Trump Mobile does not appear to have submitted a mandatory plan for combating robocalls. While Trump Mobile's key business partner, Liberty Mobile Wireless, did make a filing for a robocall database, it was incomplete, according to the senator.

These issues arise in the context of previous security alerts. Reports have indicated that hackers stole personal data belonging to 3,615 customers. Trump Mobile had previously confirmed that a vendor it uses had exposed customer personal data online. Hassan alleged that Trump Mobile has failed to adhere to multiple FCC filing rules intended to ensure the security of mobile services.

The situation highlights the critical importance of robust data security and regulatory compliance for mobile operators to protect customer information and prevent unauthorized activities.
