Truth Initiative lends behavior-change expertise to Ohio cannabis education
Truth Initiative is partnering with the OneOhio Recovery Foundation to bolster statewide cannabis education and prevention efforts. The collaboration will leverage Truth Initiative's expertise in evidence-based behavior change strategies.

Truth Initiative, a national public health organization, has announced a partnership with the OneOhio Recovery Foundation to enhance the effectiveness of its statewide cannabis education and prevention initiatives. The collaboration aims to utilize Truth Initiative's proven track record in developing and implementing evidence-based behavior change campaigns.
The partnership will involve Truth Initiative providing strategic advisory services, conducting formative and message testing research, and leading rigorous evaluation efforts. Particular focus will be placed on campaigns targeting youth, pregnant women, and employers. This initiative comes amid growing concerns, as new research indicates rising cannabis use in Ohio and declining perceptions of risk, especially concerning youth and use during pregnancy.
"Truth Initiative has a proven ability to help people make informed decisions about their health," said Alisha Nelson, Executive Director of the OneOhio Recovery Foundation. "This partnership will give Ohioans practical, evidence-based information and tools to protect themselves, their families, and their communities."
Truth Initiative is recognized for its successful behavior change media campaigns, including the award-winning truth® tobacco prevention campaign and the nicotine cessation campaign Outsmart Nicotine. Their work has significantly contributed to reducing youth smoking rates in the United States. The organization also provides educational curricula for young people on cannabis use and the risks associated with prescription drug misuse.
