TSMC Reports Record Profit, Beating Estimates on AI Chip Demand
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. posted a record profit for the sixth consecutive quarter, exceeding analyst expectations. The company's performance was boosted by strong demand for artificial intelligence chips.

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) announced its third-quarter results on Thursday, reporting a record net profit of NT$763.1 billion (approximately $23.7 billion USD). This figure represents a 68.7% increase compared to the same period last year and surpasses financial analysts' estimates.
The company's revenue for the quarter reached NT$1.49 trillion (approximately $46.4 billion USD), also beating forecasts. This marks the sixth consecutive quarter of record profits for TSMC, highlighting its continued dominance in the contract chip manufacturing sector, largely driven by the burgeoning artificial intelligence market.
TSMC has consistently reported strong sales growth, with September's revenue alone showing a 54.6% year-on-year increase. The sustained demand for advanced semiconductors is critical for powering AI applications and data centers worldwide.
In addition to its robust financial performance, TSMC is also expanding its manufacturing presence in the United States. The company has outlined plans for a significant investment of $265 billion in Arizona and is reportedly evaluating further expansion opportunities in Texas.
