TSMC to increase mature-node foundry prices from January 2027

Taiwanese semiconductor manufacturer TSMC has announced it will increase prices for its mature process node foundry services. The price adjustments are set to take effect from January 2027, with specific changes varying between customers.

Industry analysts attribute the price hikes to several factors. A surge in demand for AI applications, ongoing product mix optimization, and rising upstream material costs have extended pricing pressure from advanced nodes to mature technologies. This is reportedly driving broader foundry price increases across the sector.

TSMC previously raised prices for its cutting-edge process technologies, such as 3nm. The company is now extending these increases to its older, more established process nodes. According to Liu Pei-chen, director of the Taiwan Industry Economics Database, supply constraints for advanced nodes have led TSMC to reallocate capacity, tightening the supply for mature processes.

Secondary foundries have also begun implementing price increases, which further contributes to the rising costs for mature-node manufacturing. The combination of these market dynamics is creating upward pressure on foundry pricing.
