TUPLS and transcosmos launch AI-powered pharmaceutical learning platform

The Tokyo University of Pharmacy and Life Science (TUPLS) and transcosmos inc. have announced a joint project to develop an AI-powered, dialogue-based learning platform. The initiative aims to enhance pharmaceutical education and support the continuous professional development of pharmacists.

The new platform will be built upon transcosmos's "trans-AI Tutor" tool, which will be adapted for the specific needs of pharmacy students and practicing pharmacists. The collaboration seeks to create a learning environment where students and professionals can deepen their practical skills, while also promoting the standardization of medical knowledge.

A pilot program targeting fourth-year students at TUPLS is scheduled to begin in November 2026. The platform will offer opportunities for practicing clinical scenarios through role-playing exercises and developing skills for handling complex cases. Additionally, it will provide visualization of learning progress and immediate feedback, drawing on expertise from contact center operations.

The project also intends to support lifelong learning beyond graduation, offering updates on new information, including legislative changes. In the long term, the platform is envisioned to become a foundational tool for pharmaceutical education, encompassing both initial training and ongoing professional development.
