Turkey Data Center Market to Reach $1.79 Billion by 2031 Amid Strong Growth

The Turkish data center market is forecast to expand significantly, reaching an estimated $1.79 billion by 2031 with a compound annual growth rate of 16.56%. This growth is fueled by escalating demand for colocation services, cloud computing, artificial intelligence infrastructure, and digital commerce.

Istanbul remains the primary hub for data centers in Turkey, hosting approximately 32 operational facilities, most of which are built to Tier III standards. However, other cities, notably Ankara, are now attracting significant investment from hyperscale, colocation, and enterprise operators. The market is also seeing new project developments, with five additional facilities identified.

New investments from both domestic and international players are strengthening Turkey's position in the digital infrastructure landscape. Global operators such as DAMAC Digital and Khazna Data Centers have shown interest in Turkey's colocation services. Furthermore, Trendyol, owned by Alibaba, is investing around $500 million in a 48 MW data center in Ankara.

Khazna Data Centers is planning an AI-ready facility near Ankara with a capacity of up to 100 MW to support cloud and AI workloads. Turkey's commitment to renewable energy through its Renewable Energy 2035 Strategy is also expected to support sustainable data center growth. Other global entrants like EdgeConneX and Google are also shaping the competitive environment.
