Car-sharing platform Turo has announced that it will implement a verification feature on October 28 allowing customers in the U.S. to rent Tesla vehicles equipped with the FSD (Full Self-Driving, supervised) system. The platform will use API integration to confirm the functionality status of listed vehicles.

The company noted that while the vehicles offer advanced driving assistance, users are required to maintain active supervision. Turo has advised renters to review Tesla’s safety guidelines and applicable local regulations before operating the vehicles, clarifying that the system does not constitute autonomous driving.

Tesla’s Model 3 and Model Y are currently among the most requested vehicles on Turo. By highlighting FSD capabilities, the company expects to increase the rental appeal of these models, thereby providing car owners with greater potential for revenue generation.

Turo currently hosts thousands of FSD-enabled Tesla vehicles. The company projects a total booking value of $3.3 billion and revenue of $1.2 billion for 2026, marking its fifth consecutive year of profitability.
