TV Time App Shuts Down, Founder Launches New Service Bingers
The founder of the popular TV tracking app TV Time has launched Bingers, a new platform designed to replace the defunct app and preserve its fan community.

Antonio Pinto, one of the original founders of the popular TV and movie tracking app TV Time, has introduced a successor service. TV Time's shutdown in July 2026 prompted significant user backlash, with over 25,000 individuals signing a petition to save the app.
Pinto has now created Bingers, a new application aiming to rebuild TV Time's most popular features while addressing prior shortcomings. The new platform will offer existing TV Time users a way to import their watch histories and continue engaging in discussions about their favorite shows. This is particularly crucial as many TV show tracking apps lack robust community features.
TV Time was originally sold to Whipclip (now Whip Media) in 2016. The app's closure comes as Whip Media shifts its focus towards AI solutions. Pinto expressed sadness at TV Time's discontinuation but views the launch of Bingers as an opportunity to create an improved experience for TV enthusiasts. TV Time boasted a substantial user base, with estimates suggesting over 26.4 million lifetime installs globally.
Bingers aims to be more than just a tracking tool; it intends to foster a vibrant community where fans can interact, share reviews, and discover new content. The service seeks to preserve and grow the community that formed around TV Time, providing a space for ongoing conversations and recommendations. The new app is expected to attract TV Time's migrating user base as well as new streaming service fans.
