Two 21-Year-Olds Built $13 Million AI Startup Without Touching Funding

Turbo AI, an artificial intelligence startup, has reached $13 million in lifetime revenue and attracted over 10 million users with a lean team of ten, all without spending any of its $750,000 initial funding. The company was founded by 21-year-old undergraduates Rudy Arora and Sarthak Dhawan.

Initial growth for Turbo AI, formerly known as TurboLearn, stemmed from organic social media efforts. Co-founder Rudy Arora began posting videos of himself using the app, a strategy born out of a lack of marketing budget. These videos eventually garnered millions of views and a significant following.

This organic push alone brought in the company's first 300,000 users and generated over $500,000 in revenue before any paid advertising was employed. Arora has stated that the content strategy was initially driven by necessity rather than a pre-defined plan, observing user engagement to refine the approach.

The startup utilizes AI tools, including Claude Code, to enhance its engineering team's productivity, allowing it to operate efficiently with a small headcount. The founders view their untouched funding as a contingency rather than immediate operational capital.
