Two arrested in Poland following drone incident over Warsaw

Polish security services have arrested two Belarusian citizens following the unauthorized flight of a drone over government facilities in Warsaw. Prime Minister Donald Tusk confirmed the incident, stating that the SOP security agency neutralized and secured the device on Monday evening.

Authorities reported that the aircraft was not shot down, but was recovered by police around 7:00 PM. Following the incident, security forces cordoned off several streets surrounding the capital’s government district as investigations commenced.

This security breach occurs as regional tensions remain high, with NATO bolstering its eastern flank defense capabilities. In a related development, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has urged Western allies to accelerate the delivery of promised air defense systems to bolster infrastructure security ahead of the winter months.
