Game developer MiHoYo has secured a legal victory against two individuals, identified as Yang and Guo, who were found guilty of infringing on the company's trade secrets. The defendants obtained, cracked, and distributed unauthorized test versions of the title Honkai: Star Rail through online platforms.

A local court ruled that the defendants must pay one million yuan in damages and legal expenses. Furthermore, the court issued a permanent injunction ordering them to cease all infringing activities and to publish formal statements to mitigate the damage caused by their actions. The judgment has already taken legal effect.

The incident originated when MiHoYo’s legal department identified that the defendants were facilitating access to unreleased game content. Prior to the final verdict, the court had issued an injunction preventing the further distribution of the leaked material, which was served just one day before a scheduled game update.

MiHoYo stated that the lawsuit serves as a measure to protect both its proprietary creative content and the integrity of its user experience. The company confirmed it will continue to pursue legal action against entities that violate its intellectual property and trade secrets.
