Two sustainable chemistry startups form strategic partnership
Fuel cell technology firm Reverion and carbon materials producer UP Catalyst have announced a strategic partnership. The collaboration aims to leverage synergies to combat climate change.

German startup Reverion and Estonian company UP Catalyst, both active in sustainable chemistry, have formed a strategic partnership. The collaboration intends to combine their technologies to reduce carbon dioxide emissions and promote a circular economy.
Reverion has developed a high-temperature fuel cell system capable of producing pure carbon dioxide. UP Catalyst specializes in manufacturing carbon nanomaterials and graphite from sustainable raw materials. The partnership will allow UP Catalyst to utilize the CO2 generated by Reverion in its production processes, creating valuable materials while mitigating emissions.
"By supplementing sustainable electricity with our fuel cell system, we produce pure CO2, which UP Catalyst can use to produce very valuable carbon nanomaterials," stated Stephan Herrmann of Reverion. This synergy is expected to accelerate the development and market application of both companies' innovations.
Both startups have received support from the International Sustainable Chemistry Collaborative Centre (ISC3) Global Start-up Service. ISC3 aims to foster innovation in sustainable chemistry by providing mentorship and connecting startups with experts and industry stakeholders. This partnership exemplifies ISC3's commitment to driving sustainable solutions through collaboration.
