Tyra Banks Launches 'The World of Too Much' Substack
Model and entrepreneur Tyra Banks has launched a new Substack newsletter, 'The World of Too Much,' after clearing her social media accounts.

Model and entrepreneur Tyra Banks has launched a new Substack newsletter titled 'The World of Too Much.' This move follows her decision to delete all previous posts from her Instagram and TikTok accounts.
Banks described her social media purge as a step born from feeling constrained and pressured to post content optimized for algorithms. She sought a platform to freely express her imagination, leading to the creation of 'The World of Too Much.' Banks envisions the newsletter as "the amusement park of my mind" and intends to write all content herself.
Banks has a history of creative ventures. She served as showrunner for "America's Next Top Model," founded Bankable Productions, published a young adult novel, and attended Harvard Business School. She also opened an ice cream shop, Smize and Dream, in Australia. Her novel, "Modelland," originally published in 2010, did not initially find widespread success. However, years later, the book gained renewed attention due to a viral TikTok video, causing old copies to sell for significant prices.
Banks emphasizes the importance of listening to experts while also trusting one's entrepreneurial intuition. She reflects that some of her ideas may have been ahead of their time. The 'The World of Too Much' newsletter provides her a dedicated space to share her creative thoughts without external limitations.
Banks unveiled her newsletter publicly at the Fast Company Innovation Festival. She compares the joy of writing for the newsletter to "a trip to Disney World" and describes her own writing style as robust and distinctive.
