The new version, named "Ancient Domains," is now available on the Steam store, though its release date is pending. This remake aims to let players re-experience the original campaign with a unified storyline, enhanced by a new prologue and epilogue, alongside cinematic cutscenes.
The game features upgraded graphics, more detailed animations, and modern audio technology. Players can choose from nine distinct factions, each offering unique gameplay and fantasy creatures. The objective involves exploring the world, gathering resources and treasures, developing towns, and building heroes and armies, providing extensive tactical possibilities.
"Ancient Domains" supports online multiplayer for up to eight players and local turn-based matches. Community-created maps will be playable from launch, and players can also design their own maps and campaigns using the provided editor tools. The game will include Chinese language support.
