In response, UBTECH stated that a two-to-four-hour battery life is currently typical for full-size humanoid robots across the industry. The company asserts that the U1's endurance aligns with current industry standards, suggesting a common limitation among advanced humanoid robotics.
Furthermore, UBTECH clarified the robot's intended purpose, emphasizing its role as an emotional companion rather than a romantic partner. The company noted that this direction is supported and recognized by Chinese authorities.
