Ugreen launches local smart home hub at IFA trade show

Chinese technology company Ugreen has unveiled its new HomeAgent smart home platform at the IFA trade show in Berlin. The company, previously recognized for its power banks, chargers, and NAS storage solutions, is now expanding into the smart home sector by integrating security camera storage, on-device artificial intelligence, and smart home control into a single system.
The core of the HomeAgent system is the HomeAgent H100 Pro hub, which acts as the central unit for managing the smart home. It utilizes locally processed AI that can be controlled using natural language via a voice assistant named Uliya. Ugreen emphasizes that this setup is designed for local data handling, aiming to enhance user privacy and reduce reliance on cloud services.
Ugreen's stated goal is to provide users with comprehensive control over their smart devices without requiring a constant internet connection. The company indicated that the HomeAgent will be available in multiple hardware configurations, with further details to be released. This launch positions Ugreen to compete by focusing on local processing capabilities and user data privacy.
