UGREEN Launches New Magnetic Power Bank, First with New National Standard 3C Certification

Chinese technology firm UGREEN announced on July 25th that its P8 series ultra-thin magnetic power bank will be available for sale across all channels on July 29th. The product's launch is significant as it holds the industry's first new national standard 3C certification for magnetic power banks.
The UGREEN P8 features battery cells sourced from the same manufacturer used in Apple devices and boasts an ultra-light and ultra-thin design. The certification is particularly relevant given China's plan to implement a new mandatory national safety standard for mobile power sources, scheduled to take effect on April 1, 2027.
This new standard significantly enhances safety requirements. It introduces an updated needle penetration test to improve intrinsic battery safety and mandates enhanced protection against high temperatures, overcharging, and compression. Additionally, the standard requires new cycle aging tests to mitigate the risk of internal short circuits and requires manufacturers to clearly mark a recommended safe usage period to encourage timely replacement of aging power banks.
The standard also promotes unique product code management, allowing consumers to query core information such as the battery brand. Manufacturing process controls, from raw materials to production flows, are also being tightened to elevate safety levels at the source.
