UK Government and AWS Sign Three-Year Cloud Services Agreement
Amazon Web Services and the UK’s Crown Commercial Service have entered into a three-year agreement to consolidate cloud procurement and reduce public sector costs.

The UK government and Amazon Web Services (AWS) have finalized a three-year Memorandum of Understanding known as the One Government Value Agreement (OGVA). By centralizing procurement via the Crown Commercial Service (CCS), the agreement allows public sector organizations to access volume-based pricing for cloud infrastructure, a model previously reserved for large-scale commercial clients.
Beyond cost management, the initiative focuses on digital transformation. AWS has committed to a skills program designed to provide cloud training to more than 6,000 civil servants at no cost to the government. This program aims to address the digital skills gap within the public workforce.
Crown Commercial Service CEO Simon Tse stated that the deal supports the broader objective of improving service delivery across the UK public sector. The agreement also aims to increase supplier diversity by allowing smaller enterprises within the AWS Partner Network to act as contractors, building on a framework that has previously supported over £1.3bn in public sector service delivery.
