UK Housing Club CIC Launches Member-Driven Movement to Combat Housing Crisis

Rotherham, South Yorkshire – A new community collective, UK Housing Club CIC, has launched a member-led initiative to tackle the local housing crisis. The Community Interest Company (CIC), limited by guarantee, aims to acquire derelict properties, renovate them into high-quality housing, and permanently secure them as community assets.

The model operates on a low-cost, recurring monthly micro-subscription basis, enabling ordinary people to pool regional resources. The goal is to purchase and restore empty, neglected buildings for the benefit of local residents. The CIC structure ensures all profits and assets are legally locked to directly benefit the local population.

UK Housing Club CIC also has a secondary mission to establish a year-round night shelter in South Yorkshire. This project seeks to provide a warm, non-judgmental environment for individuals experiencing homelessness every night of the year, assisting those who may not qualify for traditional housing tenancies.

The organization emphasizes transparency, inviting members to track development projects via an open WhatsApp channel and an email newsletter. Interested individuals can join the movement with monthly contributions starting at £2 through the official website.
