UN Global Compact launches CEO-led coalition for Latin American business
The UN Global Compact has established the Latin America Business Leaders Coalition to address regional competitiveness and collective sustainability goals.

The United Nations Global Compact hosted its second regional leaders forum in Montevideo, Uruguay, bringing together over 300 delegates to discuss the future of the Latin American and Caribbean economies. Participants addressed topics ranging from supply chain resilience to responsible artificial intelligence, focusing on how to translate sustainability commitments into tangible outcomes.
A central outcome of the event was the launch of the Latin America Business Leaders Coalition (LBLC). This CEO-led platform is designed to consolidate regional priorities and provide a unified voice for the private sector in global multilateral dialogues. UN Assistant Secretary-General Sanda Ojiambo stated that the coalition aims to leverage regional resources and talent to drive cross-border cooperation.
Founding members include companies such as Natura, LATAM Airlines, and Softtek. With support from the Boston Consulting Group, the initiative plans to move beyond policy dialogue toward coordinated, measurable actions. The forum also saw the release of a report detailing business cases where sustainability integration has improved operational resilience and commercial performance across the region.
