Unanimous AI Secures Air Force Contract for Hyper-Communication Technology

ARLINGTON, Va. – Unanimous AI announced on July 27, 2026, that it has received a Phase I contract from AFWERX, the innovation arm of the U.S. Air Force. The contract focuses on applying the company's Hypercom AI technology to real-time command and control applications.
The project, conducted in collaboration with Carnegie Mellon University, will assess the benefits of hyper-communication networks for large, distributed teams engaged in urgent tasks. Unanimous AI's patented system uses a network of AI agents to connect team members in real time, replacing sequential reporting with parallel communication to keep human stakeholders central to decision-making.
Traditional "one to many" communication frameworks often create bottlenecks in high-pressure environments, leading to delays and information overload. Hypercom AI addresses this through a "many to one" voice-based communication path. This allows a single team leader to conduct a coherent real-time discussion with dozens of individuals simultaneously, each potentially monitoring different aspects of an operation.
The technology employs AI agents, referred to as "conversational surrogates," to intelligently multiplex real-time streams. The system synthesizes related information from all incoming channels, prioritizes updates by urgency, and allows leaders to request information from specific subsets of the team without disrupting others. This parallel processing aims to increase communication efficiency while reducing cognitive load.
Beyond its defense applications, Unanimous AI believes its Hypercom AI technology holds commercial potential for sectors such as disaster response and airport operations, where efficient real-time communication is critical.
