Unicommerce Q2 Net Profit Climbs 11 Percent Amid Rising Operating Costs

Ecommerce SaaS company Unicommerce reported a consolidated net profit of ₹6.4 Cr for the second quarter, marking an 11% increase from ₹5.8 Cr in the same period last year. Operating revenue also saw a 15% year-over-year increase, reaching ₹59.1 Cr.

However, the company’s expansion efforts led to a 19% rise in total expenses, which reached ₹52.8 Cr during the quarter. Unicommerce attributed these costs to planned investments in product development, personnel, and marketing initiatives. Management expects profitability to improve in the second half of the fiscal year as these incremental spending levels moderate.

CEO and MD Kapil Makhija noted that the company's growth remains driven by its core platforms, Uniware and Shipway. Shipway reached an annualized revenue run rate of ₹100 Cr during the period, while the company added 121 new enterprise clients. Additionally, the company launched a new second-generation AI product aimed at operational automation.

Unicommerce, owned by Snapdeal, debuted on the stock exchange recently through parent firm AceVector. Since the IPO, the stock has faced downward pressure, reflecting a cautious investor sentiment. Shares of the company fell 4.58% following the latest financial disclosure.
