Unitree Robotics CEO predicts industry breakthrough by 2026
Unitree Robotics founder Wang Xingxing stated that the robotics and AI sector is approaching a critical tipping point, likely occurring next year.
Speaking at the 2026 World Internet Conference in Wuzhen, Unitree Robotics founder Wang Xingxing identified 2027 as a potential inflection point for the robotics industry and physical AI models. Wang suggests that rapid advancements in large-scale AI, specifically following the introduction of GPT-6, are beginning to bridge the gap between virtual intelligence and physical execution.
According to Wang, the primary technical hurdle currently facing embodied intelligence is the alignment between AI model outputs and the physical constraints of robotics hardware. While the industry is exploring various applications, Wang noted that commercial service sectors are likely to see widespread implementation before residential or industrial markets reach maturity.
Unitree Robotics is shifting its strategic focus toward developing core 'robot brain' technologies. The company is seeking international partnerships to advance its physical AI capabilities, aiming to address the persistent challenges in real-world sensory-motor integration.
